Over The Moon Mega- Matisse

In this large scale collage activation inspired by Henri Matisse's iconic cut-outs, our Meagg E. Moon will spend approximately three hours live-demonstrating and composing bold, colorful paper shapes into a sprawling collage across a large canvas. It's a bold, joyful, hands-on nod to one of modern art's most playful masters.
Right alongside the demo, visitors of all ages can jump into their own mini Matisse moment at our dedicated collage-making station. Using cut paper shapes and glue sticks, kids and adults can compose and take home their own Matisse-inspired collagen. Cut paper and glue sticks mean finished pieces are ready to grab and go, making it easy to get creative.
On-site team: Our lead artist will demonstrate the large-scale collage technique for about three hours (likely completing the big canvas within the first few hours), with an assistant on hand throughout. From setup to close, Over the Moon will always have someone staffing the collage station in the Art Yard, helping visitors create and represent Over the Moon for the full duration of the event.

Watch as a piece of Slavic folk art comes to life with a live painting demonstration from multidisciplinary artist Diana Samoylova, who draws inspiration from contemporary and historical sources, personal heritage, Slavic folk traditions, and the natural world. Then become an artist yourself, coloring in provided printed worksheets and trying out patterns on wood slices and bookmarks. Attendees can bring their own items to decorate as well!
Samoylova’s work is grounded in fine arts and crafting techniques and driven by a cross-disciplinary approach. She has extensive experience working in ceramics studios across the country, including New York, New Mexico, and Pennsylvania. Her artistic practice spans ceramics, printmaking, and painting.

Wafa Ayyad is a Palestinian Tatreez artist who learned the art of traditional Palestinian embroidery from her grandmother, continuing a practice that has been lovingly passed down through generations of women. Deeply committed to preserving this cultural heritage, Wafa has spent years teaching and presenting about Tatreez, sharing the history, symbolism, and stories behind its motifs with diverse audiences.

Enjoy an educational and interactive hands-on experience and create a colorful textile on a pre-warped handloom. Visitors may operate the loom with guidance, or they may collaborate with Sally to generate individual patterns in vibrant colors throughout the day.
Sally Orgren has exhibited, won awards, taught, researched, and written about weaving and related topics throughout her 30+ years of producing fiber art. She received a 2025 MAFA Fellowship to study with Cameron Taylor-Brown and was awarded a 2026 Peters Valley School of Craft Scholarship. She recently retired as Managing Editor of Shuttle Spindle & Dyepot magazine, produced by the Handweavers Guild of America, Inc. Her interests range from historic to contemporary, and her practice encompasses a wide variety of textiles, techniques, and equipment.

Using the mediums of acrylic paints, watercolors, inks, and spray paints, Eleanor’s work captures the beauty and pain of the world, with compositions tying together a love for nature with the challenges of life.
Born in Birmingham, England, Eleanor emigrated to the United States with her family and one trunk with their life’s belongings. From working as a gardener in her younger years to a landscape architect by trade, she has always brought the elements of art and nature together. Eleanor is a self-taught artist who works out of her home near the Manasquan Reservoir and out of a studio at Galerie Lucida in Red Bank, New Jersey.

The Puzzle Project consists of thousands of 24”x 24” artistic puzzle pieces created in more than 30 states and 20 countries and is part of an art program called ART is GOOD, about ART and YOU. The program consists of fun and meaningful art projects, classes, and workshops. Participants will help assemble the puzzle pieces into a massive jigsaw puzzle art installation. Don’t worry - you don't have to be an artist to participate!
