Since 2013, The Viva Vallenato! Trio has electrified audiences with their smooth, spirited blend of the rich, authentic vallenato and cumbia music of Colombia. Led by 77-year-old Barranquilla native Hugo Lascarro Sr., his son Hugo, Jr., and accordionist “El Gringo Que Canta Vallenato” Phil “Felipe” Passantino, this multigenerational trio brings to life the soul-stirring rhythms and the local storytelling tradition straight from Colombia’s Atlantic coast. Performances include features on Univision, Telemundo, and Colombia’s Telecafe TV.
